Pamela Somerville

She has sketched and painted her way across Canada from Newfoundland on the East Coast, as far West as British Columbia and as far North as the Arctic Ocean and has travelled South through the United States, and as far as California and Mexico, enjoying the solitude of the painted desert of Arizona and the bustling activity of New Orleans along the way.

Pam has also travelled extensively in Europe including France, Switzerland and Austria as well as Yugoslavia and Greece. In 1996 she cruised the Caribbean in a 30ft sailboat sketching and enjoying the beauty of the Bahamas and in 1999 she once more returned to the Northwest Territories, staying at the Whale Camp on Gary Island in the Beaufort Sea, and enjoyed painting the land and its people.

Pam has been a resident of North Bay Ontario since 1985 and as a full-time professional artist. She works in water colours, acrylics and oils. Her ability to capture rhythm and patterns in her landscapes makes for bold strong works.
